Corrections
History gets revised when better evidence turns up, and so will this site. When we get something wrong, we fix it here, in public, with the date and what changed.
Report an error
Email corrections@humancostofhistory.com. Tell us three things:
- The page or episode, and the timestamp if it's in a video.
- The claim you think is wrong.
- Your source. A citation we can check beats a correction we have to take on trust.
Every episode page and Knowledge Base entry also has a Send a correction link that fills in the subject line for you.
What gets logged
Any change to a fact, figure, date, name, quotation, attribution or source is logged below. Typos and wording changes that don't alter a claim are fixed without an entry.
A correction to a published video can't change the upload. It goes in the video description, the pinned comment and this log.
How we weigh evidence in the first place is set out in how we research history.
